Beautiful – as usual

Some Surplus by Magali Reus at Plan B, Herengracht 32 (until March 15, 2009). Plan B is an independent Amsterdam based artist-run space founded by artist Tarja Szaraniec in september 2006. It does not work from a fixed theoretic view, but strongly believes that there is more in between the ironic and the iconic.
Recently Plan B has incorporated a multiple store under the management of artist Tomas Adolfs. With small and cheap multiples (prizes start from a few euro's) such as limited prints, small sculptures and records from some artist-run record labels. All from people Plan B work with or has worked with in the past.
Also for sale is The Psychedelic Session, an experimental magazine by a group of artists (Tomas Adolfs, Staffan Björk, Experimental Jetset, Orpheu de Jong, Matthias Kreutzer, Kalle Mattson, Parra, Kalle Runeson, Jens Schildt, Tarja Szaraniec and Monica Tormell). Each issue another one of the artists is in charge of theme and form, so every issue looks completely different. Interesting stuff.
The six new works in the gallery space by Magali Reus look very beautiful – as usual. She also made a multiple for Plan B's new multiple shop: A renewed purpose, a sculpture with a can on a iron pole with a base of concrete (prize available on request). Go check it out while you still can.
